The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) is launching a new phase of its campaign looking at the links between binge drinking and ill-mental health.
The 'Mental Drinking' roadshow is travelling around colleges this week with merchandise and information packs for students, starting in UCC today.
A website for the initiative - mentaldrinking.ie - also encourages students to act as positive role models on the issue.
Last year, the USI last year broke ties with the alcohol industry in an effort to create more independent anti-drinking campaigns.
Third level students are also being encouraged to examine their behaviour when it comes to drinking.
Vice-president for welfare at the USI, Greg O'Donoghue, says it was an important move.
