County Meath has been hit with a major jobs blow this evening with the news that the manufacturing section of Geith International Engineering works is to close at its plant in Grangeith.
Unions representing workers at an engineering plant in Slane, County Meath are to meet with management next week in a bid to save 79 jobs at the firm.
According to LMFM, the company intends to keep open a distribution element at the plant which will import ready made buckets from China.The buckets are used mainly by diggers in the construction industry
The Engineering company manufactures the buckets at its plant in Grangeith.
