It's feared as many as one hundred people may have died during a stampede on a bridge outside a temple in central India.

The tragedy happened as around 50 thousand Hindu worshipers made their way to a religious festival in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

64 people are confirmed dead as a result of the incident but many more are feared drowned.
