The rate of unemployment for November has dropped slightly from 12.6% in October to 12.5%.
The Live Register total has recorded a monthly decrease of 3,400 for last month.
The number of people signing on for November dropped to 391,507. That is an annual decrease of more than 25,000.
Almost half of claimants - or 46% - are long-term unemployed. However the figures show the numbers out of work for 12 months or more fell by 3.6%.
On a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register showed a monthly decrease of 2,600 men in November, while the number of women signing on fell by 900 over the same period.
