The British Prime Minister has apologised after a damning report into the Hillsborough Disaster revealed evidence of a major cover up.

David Cameron says police tried to deflect responsibility for the disaster onto Liverpool fans by exaggerating drunkenness and aggression.

And MPs reacted with shock when the PM told the Commons that a review shows police tried to conceal the truth.

There was also criticism of the initial inquest which said some fans who were crushed at the scene were beyond treatment.

96 people died at the Hillsborough Stadium in 1989 and today thousands of official documents about the fatal crush were released.

The UK Prime Minister has told the Commons there is clear evidence of a police cover up and that relatives of those killed at Hillsborough are only now finding out the truth.
