Two young girls have been gang raped in seperate attacks in India.

News agency AFP claims a 2-and-a-half year old was abducted late last night by two men from a religious event in west Delhi.

She was sexually assaulted before being dumped in a park near her home.

In eastern New Delhi, a five-year-old girl was gang-raped by three men yesterday after being lured to a neighbour's home.

Locals reportedly entered the house and caught the alleged perpetrators before handing them over to police.

India recorded almost 37-thousand rape cases in 2014 - however experts say the true figures are likely to be much higher.
