A man in his 80s and a woman in her 40s have been killed in a crash in Co Tipperary.

The victims were driving the two cars that collided on the main Limerick to Waterford Road, near Limerick Junction at around 7 o'clock this morning.

Their bodies have now been removed to South Tipperary Hospital in Clonmel and an investigation has been launched.

Nobody else was injured in the incident.
