Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder by Gardaí investigating a missing person's case.

56-year-old William Delaney has been missing from the Portlaoise area of Laois since January 31st.

On Thursday, two people were arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man aged in his 30s and a teenage girl are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

They are being detained at Tullamore Garda station.

A search of the area in Dunamaise, Portlaoise will continue on Friday morning with the assistance of the Defence Forces.
