A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a four-year-old boy in Limerick earlier this year.

Gardaí said the boy suffered serious head injuries at his home in Rathbane, County Limerick on Saturday, March 13th.

He was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where he died in Tuesday March 16th.

Today a man in 30s and a woman in her 20s were arrested on suspicion of murder.

They are being held at separate garda stations in Limerick city.

They can be held for up to 24 hours.
