Two male motorcyclists have died following a fatal crash in county Clare.

The collision -involving two motorbikes -happened about half-a-mile outside of Lisdoonvarna on the Ennistymon road at approximately 6.45pm.

Both men were fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene, while a female pillion passenger was taken to Galway University Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The road is closed to allow gardai to carry out a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
