Two men have been arrested in Dublin in connection with burglary related offences.
The men, aged 28 and 30, were taken into custody after gardaí stopped and searched a car in the north of the city at around 12.15pm yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí, operating as part of Operation Thor, say a number of items were recovered in this search, which could be used in connection with theft or burglary.
After futher planned searches of premises in the Dublin 6 and Dublin 8 areas, gardaí recovered a number of 'sophisticated articles' which they say could also be used in the course of a burglary.
The two men were taken to Store Street Garda Station for questioning, where they can be held for up to 24 hours under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Operation Thor is the special national Garda anti-crime programme.
