Authorities at Logan Airport in Boston say a security incident on a passenger jet was not related to bombings yesterday.

US Airways Flight 1716 from Philadelphia landed and could be seen on the tarmac with a piece of luggage beside it.

An official has confirmed that the bag had not been checked before departure and that security wanted to look at it. The alert has since been lifted.

Passengers were taken to a building away from the terminal during while the luggage was unloaded and screened.

While separately 2 passengers and their bags were removed from a United Airlines flight before departure from that same airport earlier today.

United Airlines flight 636 from Logan International Airport to Chicago O'Hare International Airport was delayed about 3 hours.
