An alleged jihadist fighter and member of the terrorist group ISIS has been caught in Turkey after he entered a beauty salon for a hair transplant in order to make himself “look better.”

Turkish police arrested the suspected member of Islamic State as he left the salon in the town of Izmir, where he had travelled to after leaving Syria in an effort to procure a hair transplant to cover his baldness, local media reported.

The Dogan news agency identified the alleged terrorist as Mehdiben Said, who was on a security-forces watch list after crossing the Syrian border and entering Turkey, where officials believed he may have been plotting a terrorist attack.

Tracking his movements, police arrested him in Izmir, a town on the Aegean coast, after he entered the beauty clinic to have a hair transplant.

Said told investigators he had also hoped to have a second cosmetic procedure to make him "look better," though the details of which treatment he was hoping to procure have not yet been released.

Turkish security forces have ramped up their responses to potential terrorist activities in light of a deadly suicide bomb attack outside the central station in Ankara on October 10th. The bombing, which ISIS claimed responsibility for, targeted a peaceful rally and killed 102 people.

Last week, Turkish police arrested 20 IS suspects in the Mediterranean holiday resort of Antalya, in the lead up to the G20 summit of world leaders, set to be held in the city next week. With many of the world’s most high-profile world leaders in attendance, security has been dramatically increased.
