Turkish state media is reporting the country's government's decided to close down 16 TV stations and 45 newspapers.
It follows the failed military coup in the country earlier this month.
CNN Turk is reporting that three news agencies, 23 radio stations and 15 journals have also been shut down.
They say the TV stations include STV and Kanalturk, one of the news agencies is Cihan, while two of the newspapers are Zaman and Taraf.
Close to 1700 officers have also been formally discharged from the military.
