The Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) is holding a protest outside Leinster House later today.
Members of the TUI will be voicing their opposition to the FEMPI Bill, which is being currently being finalised.
The union says it is against the Bill, which is designed to allow for Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest.
The union said its members voted by 92% to Lansdowne Road Agreement, and this legislation ignores their democratic vote.
The TUI says members voted against the Lansdowne Road Agreement for its pay cuts and unfair treatment of newly-hired teachers and lecturers.
President of the TUI Gerry Quinn explains why they are protesting today - and why they rejected the Lansdowne Road Agreement.
