In February, it launched verified accounts.
In June, it finally implemented hashtags.
And last week it introduced embedded posts.
In yet another move that will make Facebook more and more like Twitter, the one billion strong social network is introducing trending topics.
In Facebook's version, which is currently being rolled out to mobile app users in the US, a single trending topic will appear at the top of your feed; if you click on it, you'll see what your friends are saying about it, but strangers too.
Justin Osofsky, the executive leading the "public" push, said the feature will help Facebook "unlock and surface the conversation about shared interests that’s already happening".
Do you think Facebook should focus solely on friends, or do you think branching out and becoming more like Twitter is a good thing? Or do you even care?
