Two men are facing four charges of burglary after breaking into the Aqua Dome in Tralee for a late night swim, then going to sleep in a hotel bedroom.

Tralee District Court heard Eric O'Shea (20) of 17 Loharcannon and Conor Walsh (21), with an address at Ballinorrig South, had entered the Aqua Dome by trespassing with intent to commit theft on June 22nd, 23rd and 24th.

They then went for a sleep in one of the rooms in the Brandon Hotel.

Solictor for Mr Walsh, Pat Mann, told the court this was not a "blatant burglary".

In reply to the charges, Mr O'Shea said: "I'm sorry, I was drunk."

Both men have been placed on curfew between 10pm and 9am.

They have also been remanded on bail to appear before the court again on October 7th.
