Major traffic diversions will be in place in Dublin city centre this morning for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon.

The race is expected to begin at 8.30am with participants running from the Docklands to the Phoenix Park.

Double leg amputee Steve Martin will be competing in this morning's event.

The former US army soldier suffered severe leg damage while in Afganistan.

Today will be his 32nd half marathon, his 68-year-old father will also take part in the race.

AA Road Watch is urging commuters to check traffic disruptions before departing for the city centre.
