Toys R Us has stopped labeling toys as girls and boys.
The company had been subjected to a slew of complaints from parents, upset by gender based marketing.
It is claimed that labeling toys as boys or girls puts girls off from playing with trains and construction sets.
They have now dropped gender filters from their Irish and UK websites.
Shoppers are instead invited to browse depending on the child's age group, brand, or the type of toy they are after.
However, gender-based filters still remain on its US website.
Toys R Us has more than 1,500 stores worldwide in 34 countries.
It has also opened new stores in Blanchardstown and Limerick, with more planned for 2016.
