Toy shop manager kidnapped, robbed in Dublin

Gardai are investigating the false imprisonment of a toy shop manager and the robbery of the shop in Dublin last night.

The incident happened at the Fonthill Retail Park in Clondalkin.

At 10:10pm last night the man who works as a manager of the toy shop was stopped by a number of men as he drove in the area of Oldbridge Glen in Lucan.

One of the men was armed with a gun and they forced him to drove back to his workplace in the Fonthill Retail Park in Dublin 22.

'Killing the spirit of Christmas'

There they stole a sum of cash before leaving him behind and making their getaway in his car.

The Nissan Qashqai was later found burnt out elsewhere in the Retail Park.

Gardai say they are examining 3 scenes in the investigation - the area where the victim was intercepted, the shop itself and the location where the vehicle was found.

The shop manager was physically unharmed in the incident and Gardai in Lucan have launched an investigation.
