Tomorrow Michael Noonan and Brendan Howlin will take to their feet and reveal their Budget plans for 2016.

"Sympathy of the country" goes out to family of Garda Tony Golden - Taoiseach

The Taoisaech has described the death of Garda Tony Golden in Co Louth as a 'terrible tragedy'.

Enda Kenny says a full report into the Omeath incident will be made by the Garda Commissioner and Justice Minister.

Commissioner Noirin O'Sullivan this evening visited Garda Golden's family and the scene of the shooting where he was killed, a woman was critically injured and the perpetrator was fatally wounded.

Peter O'Mahony ruled out of the Rugby World Cup

Ireland flanker Peter O'Mahony has been ruled out of the remainder of the Rugby World Cup after sustaining a knee ligament injury in yesterday's defeat of France.

Paul O'Connell stayed overnight in hospital in Cardiff after a hamstring injury saw the Irish captain leave the field on a stretcher at half time. Despite O'Connell's night in hospital he remains part of the squad and is awaiting results of scans.

Johnny Sexton also had a scan yesterday on a groin injury but the Irish backroom staff remain "hopeful" of Sexton continuing in the tournament.
