Mostly cloudy today with rain and drizzle extending from the west during the morning – persistent in Connacht and Ulster, but more patchy elsewhere.
Dry intervals will develop in many areas in the afternoon, especially in the midlands and east. Remaining dull and misty in places, with hill and coastal fog.
Rain will become persistent in south Munster and south Leinster later this afternoon and also in the west and northwest towards evening.
Maximum temperatures 14C to 17C Celsius in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong in coastal areas.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy at first, with widespread rain and drizzle.
Clearer conditions with scattered showers will develop in many areas but there will be further outbreaks of rain in south Munster and south Leinster – with some heavy bursts.
Minimum temperatures 7C to 10C with mostly moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong on western and northern coasts.
