This morning will be dry in most areas, with sunny spells, but scattered showers in Atlantic coastal counties will gradually become widespread during the day, many of them heavy.

A high risk of thundery downpours in the afternoon and evening, especially in Munster, Leinster and east Ulster.

Maximum temperatures 13 to 16 Celsius, in mostly light south to southwesterly breezes.

Tonight, any showers will largely die out, except in Atlantic coastal areas and most areas will be dry, with clear intervals.

With little or no wind, a few mist or fog patches are likely to develop.

Minimum temperatures 2 to 6 Celsius.
