Over 20,000 school students will be taking part in Conradh na Gaeilge’s Gaeilge24 challenge, speaking only Irish for the whole day at school, at home, at the shops, with friends and anyone they meet.This is the 3rd year of the Gaeilge24 campaign and there are more people than ever taking part.

Report on reform of the Gardai due to be released

A report on Garda reform is due for release, with Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald presenting the report to the Cabinet on Tuesday.
The report is expected to make more than 200 recommendations for streamlingint he work of the police force, as well as a reform of management structures.

The Beef Dispute

The Irish Farmers’ Association continue their 48 horu protest at meat plants across the country as the bitter dispute between farmers and factories rumbles on.

Minister Simon Coveney today spoke of hope that compromise can be reached.
