Irish Water

Thursday saw Mary Lou McDonald spring a surprise on the Tánaiste with a letter that she claims shows Wicklow County Council are threatening to evict tenants over unpaid water bills. Joan Burton has this evening promised to investigate the matter, but said she would be surprised if this was indeed the case

Two year old boy dead in Dublin

Gardai are treating the death of a toddler at an apartment complex in Dublin as suspicious and have arrested a woman in for questioning this evening. She can be held for a period of up to 24 hours not including rest periods.

The body of a 2 year old boy was found at an apartment at Ridge Hall in Ballybrack Village earlier today.

The child's body has been taken away for a post mortem.

Waterford attack

Three children have been taken to hospital for treatment for burn injuries following an incident in Waterford tonight.

Gardai attended the scene at Ardmore Park at around 9.20pm.

It's understood three children were removed to hospital for treatment to their injuries which are described as serious.

One man has been arrested. He has been taken to Waterford Garda Station
