Three people, including a baby, have been injured following a collision in Co Louth.

The two vehicle incident happened at Carnbeg on the Old Armagh Road (R177) at around 11am this morning.

The female driver of one car was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital with serious leg injuries. A baby in the same car received minor injuries, and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogehda.

The male driver of the second car was also taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

There was nobody else involved in the collision.

The road is closed and diversions are in place while a forensic collision examination takes place.
