An upsurge in violence in the West Bank has claimed more lives.

In the latest incident, Israeli police say a female officer shot dead a Palestinian woman who stabbed her in the West Bank city of Hebron.

Earlier in Hebron, an Israeli man shot dead a Palestinian who tried to stab him.

Meanwhile in Jerusalem, police shot and killed a 16-year-old boy who tried to stab two officers.

Over the past month, eight Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, most of them stabbings.

17 people labeled by Israel as "attackers" have been killed, and a further 17 people have died during clashes with Israeli troops.
