Gardai in Dublin investigating a violent burglary in Terenure last week have arrested three men. One of the occupants - a 60-year-old man - was taken to hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The break-in happened at a house on Fortfield Road when a man in his 60s answered a knock at the door of his home at around 9.30pm last Thursday evening.
At least four masked men forced their way in, assaulted the man in front of his teenage son and demanded cash. The gang fled when the victim's wife returned home and emergency services were called.
The man was taken to St. James Hospital where he was been treated for non life-threatening injuries.
A man in his 30s was arrested near the scene on the night of the raid. Gardai now say three men were arrested in the city this morning.
They are being held at Terenure and Rathfarnham garda stations.
