Three men have been arrested after a restaurant worker was injured in a fight on Dublin’s South William Street last night.

Footage of the incident shows restaurant workers fighting off a group of four young men on the popular city centre street.

At different points in the video, chairs and bottles are thrown.

This morning, gardaí said three men - two in their early 20s and one in his late teens - were arrested and taken to Pearse Street Garda Station.

A restaurant staff member was taken to hospital with ‘non-life-threatening injuries.’

This afternoon, the Garda Commissioner Drew Harris said there are plans in place to combat similar incidents as more businesses open up.

“That includes high-visibility patrolling to manage the situation,” he said.

“Regrettably there is an element who come out to socialise who will engage in such activity and we will respond to such matters quickly and deal with them effectively through the criminal justice system.”

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
