There has already been a winner of this year's Flora Women's Mini Marathon in Dublin.

Barbara Cleary from Donore Harriers passed the finish line with a time of 34 minutes 7 seconds.

Tens of thousands ran, walked and jogged the marathon.

The 10k got underway at 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Last year around 40-thousand turned out, raising more than €12m for 700 different charities.

The Mini Marathon has been run on the streets of the capital since 1983 and is the biggest female-only race in the world. 

Meanwhile, in Cork city, more than 9,000 competitors take part in the Cork City Marathon.

That race got under way at 9am.
