Police are investigating a most dia-per-bolical crime in the US last weekend.
A total of 13,000 nappies were stolen from the Diaper Bank of North Carolina on Sunday. The executive director of the organisation, Michelle Old, arrived on Monday morning to find the building had been ransacked.
Stocks had been completely full on Saturday, when a group of volunteers packaged nappies for delivery, but almost all of the most popular sizes were taken.
Police are still investigating, but there have been reports of the nappies being sold in the local area. According to the Huffington Post, Old said:
"A couple of people, since hearing about this, have contacted us and say they have been approached in the downtown area with people selling our diapers. Our tags are still on them."
The organisation, which was founded last year, delivers free nappies to those in need in the local community.
