Apple unveils music streaming service

Apple has announced its long-awaited "revolutionary" music streaming service, Apple Music, promising access to tens of millions of tracks.

The big reveal came from CEO Tim Cook at the company's annual developers conference and is seen as the company's belated challenge to the likes of Spotify.

Users will be able to stream songs or save them for offline listening.

Last Friday, after battling illness for a number of months, the chef and food writer Paolo Tullio passed away at the age of 65.

For five years every Thursday, he appeared live in studio with Newstalk presenter Sean Moncrieff – ostensibly to talk about food, but more often than not exploring countless other topics given his passion for just about everything.

Pascal Donohoe says he is satisfied that FAI funds have not been misused

The sports minister Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sportsays he's happy that all Irish sporting bodies are held responsible for how they spend public money.

LE Eithne docks in Italy with almost 400 migrants onboard

Irish vessel the LE Eithne is docking in a port in Italy, with 399 migrants on board rescued from the Mediterranean over the weekend.

The 280 men, 78 women and 41 children were rescued by the Irish boat during two operations.

In total, the LE Eithne has picked up more than 1,000 migrants so far.

The TD whose allegations led to a Commission of Inquiry into IBRC has welcomed what she says is a "positive engagement" by the Government.

Catherine Murphy was speaking after a meeting with Michael Noonan to discuss the terms of reference for the inquiry.

Opposition TDs want the inquiry to have a broader remit, and investigate relationships between the bank and the Department of Finance.
