Second Vigil for Karen Buckley

A second vigil will be held today in Glasgow to remember Irish student Karen Buckley after her remains were discovered at a nearby farm.

Last night around 300 people gathered in George Square to pay their respects.

Today's memorial will be held in the Garnethill area where the 24-year-old was living.

Man dies in motorbike crash in Tipperary

A stretch of the N52 is closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.

A 32 year old man has died after his motorbike crashed on the Nenagh by-pass in county Tipperary.

It happened at about twenty past nine last night between the Tullaheady and Portroe roundabouts on the N52.

Oklahoma allows execution by nitrogen gas

It’s become the first US state to approve nitrogen gas for executions under a measure Governor Mary Fallin signed into law Friday.

The ruling provides an alternative death penalty method if lethal injections aren’t possible, either because of a court ruling or a drug shortage.

Supporters of the new law maintain nitrogen-induced hypoxia is a humane and painless method of execution that requires no medical expertise to perform.

It's claimed they were planning an attack to mark next week's centenary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli during World War One.

Police in Australia have arrested five teenagers in Melbourne over an alleged terror plot to target police officers.

It's claimed they were planning an attack to mark next week's centenary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli during World War One.

They were arrested early on Saturday in an operation in suburban Melbourne carried out by Victorian state police and the Australian Federal Police.

Post mortem to be carried out on remains found in Waterford

A post mortem will be carried out today on the remains of a person discovered in the River Suir in Waterford.

A member of the public made the discovery just after five o'clock yesterday evening.

They called emergency services after spotting the remains in the water at Granny in Ferrybank.
