Shane was joined in studio by Sheila Reilly of the Longford Leader and Newstalk's own Kieran Cuddihy for a look at what's in this week's Sunday papers.

They kicked off this week's discussion with a story that is prominently covered across several papers today: the PSNI indicating that the IRA are still around in some guise, and Sinn Féin's insistence that IRA were not involved in the murder of Kevin McGuigan.

Kieran observed, "going through some of what's happened from around the ceasefire in 1994... [and] decommissioning in 2005... up until now... [you have] a criminal enterprise over the whole island of Ireland that's been estimated at between €800m and €1bn.

"They haven't gone away in a general sense, and that's been painfully obvious since 2005. What we have now is official confirmation that they haven't gone away," he added.

Sheila pointed out that "a lot of the commentators today are saying the same thing - wasn't this an open secret? Wouldn't it be fanciful to imagine the structure of the organisation was just blown away overnight by the peace process?".

Other stories discussed during this week's Paper Review include Alan Kelly making the headlines due to a carpark, and the ongoing fallout of the Ashley Madison leak.
