One in five homeowners could save money by switching mortgage lenders.

The Central Bank says 27,000 mortgage holders could save up to €10,000 over the lifetime of their loan.

Colorado cinema gunman found guilty of murders

Colorado cinema gunman James Holmes has been found guilty of the first-degree murder of all 12 victims and will be eligible for the death penalty.

Jurors rejected his insanity defence and found him guilty of killing them with "extreme indifference".

He was also found guilty on dozens of counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Holmes, dressed in a blue shirt, showed no visible reaction as the verdicts were meticulously read out over the course of an hour.

Gardaí question man over Longford helicopter crash

A man is being questioned this morning in connection with a helicopter crash in Longford on Wednesday.

Two men escaped injury when the helicopter crashed into the function room of the Rustic Inn Bar in Abbeyshrule just after 9pm on Wednesday night.
