Investigations underway following death of four-year-old boy on Mayo farm

Two investigations are underway after a young boy was killed in a farm accident in Mayo last night.

The boy - understood to be four years old - was reportedly hit by a tractor at about 8.30 last evening on a farm at Ballinaboy, Belmullet.

He was rushed to Belmullet District Hospital - where he was pronounced dead.

MH370 link investigated after debris found on island

A large piece of debris washed ashore on Reunion Island has sparked speculation it could be from missing airliner MH370.

The two-metre-long chunk has an identifying number and was found covered in shells on Wednesday morning.

Experts from Malaysia are flying to the island to examine the find.

Investigations underway following Cloverhill prison protest

Two investigations are underway following a protest at Cloverhill prison in Dublin yesterday which left an inmate seriously injured.

A group of inmates refused to return to their cells after exercising and two prisoners climbed onto the roof.
