It comes as Dublin marks the beginning of The Gathering 2013 when people from around the world  will take part in a torchlit procession followed by an open air concert in College Green.

The Lonely Planet is the largest travel guide book and digital media publisher in the world and is owned by BBC Worlwide. It previously said of the city: "It has personality, which is way more important than good looks, and will last far longer".
