The third season of Downton Abbey will be dominated by financial woes and the Irish Troubles.

In a discussion with US press, the show’s creator Julian Fellowes says the Crawley family will have to cope with losing a large chunk of their fortune.

The show recently picked up 16 Emmy award nominations.
