At least 27 bodies recovered following siege at Radisson Hotel in Mali
At least 27 people are feared dead after Islamist extremists with guns and grenades stormed a luxury hotel in Mali.
UN peacekeepers say they saw at least 27 bodies in the Radisson Blu hotel in the capital Bamako.
Wounded civilians were this evening being evacuated from the hotel, popular with airline staff, Western tourists and local dignitaries.
Some of the gunmen remain dug in on the upper floors of the hotel but they are no longer believed to be holding hostages.

It comes as it emerged that Pat Smith, who stood down as head of the organisation yesterday, received a remuneration package of €445,000 last year, and €535,000 in 2013.

Met Éireann issues weather warning with strong winds expected
Met Éireann has issued a yellow weather warning for several parts of the country.
It says winds in Connacht, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal and Waterford will reach up to 60 km/h tonight and tomorrow.
It is also forecasting gusts of between 80 to 100 km/h tonight and early on Saturday morning - strongest in exposed and coastal regions.
While there will also be scattered showers in the west and north, and some wintry hail or sleet over high ground.
