"No matter how mentally strong I think I am, hate mail like this gets to me" - George Hook reacts to hate mail

Some people say it's best to just ignore haters, while others suggest killing them with kindness. But sometimes, it's hard to do either which is how George Hook felt when he was on the receiving end of some hate mail today.

The presenter spoke recently about how he had been in a car accident which prompted one listener to send him a note commenting: "Too bad your head wasn't between the bumpers. It might have improved your slurring and dropped words."

Family of man who died while trying to help friend say they will never forgive his killer

The family of a Dublin man stabbed to death while trying to help his wounded friend during a fight over Christmas 2013 say they will never forgive his killer.

Wayne Kennedy of Rathsallagh Park, Shankill in Dublin was acquitted of David Spain's murder last July, but found guilty of manslaughter.

Murder investigation launched after fatal Cork stabbing

A murder inquiry has been launched following the stabbing of a Cork woman in her home this morning.

60-year-old Marian Horgan received fatal injuries in an incident in her Montenotte home - while her husband 67-year-old Billy Horgan was seriously injured.

Gardai have confirmed that they have launched a murder investigation, following the completion of a post mortem examination.

Conor McGregor leaves Dublin today, hoping to return before Christmas as the UFC's Undisputed Featherweight Champion. 

McGregor has been based at the Straight Blast Gym on the Naas Road ahead of his unification title bout against Jose Aldo next month. Both men are set to fight on December 12th in Las Vegas. McGregor's preparation is in stark contrast to his previous fight where he based himself in the "Mac Mansion" in Las Vegas for two months ahead of the fight.

Skulls stolen from grave in family feud

Two skulls have been taken from a grave in what police believe is linked to a family feud.

Police were called to the cemetery in Metal Bridge, County Durham, England shortly before noon on Saturday following a report a grave had been disturbed and a headstone damaged.

The damaged grave belonged to two brothers who were both aged 16 when they died.
