Did you know that Dublin Airport is recording your phone's data?

Dublin Airport uses a queue monitoring system which records the metadata of internet enabled devices to track how long it takes passenger to pass through security .

Through "Mobile Location Analytics" it tries to make sure that passing security takes no longer than 30 minutes - but privacy activists have raised concerns over how this data is being tracked and stored.

If you walk through with a smartphone, laptop, tablet, smartwatch, or any other WIFI or Bluetooth device your WIFI or Bluetooth media access control (MAC) address is recorded.

Ex-Dublin firefighter jailed for having sex with underage girl

A former Dublin fireman has been jailed for five years for having a sexual relationship with an underage girl.

57-year-old Ron Tulie of Pinevalley Park, Rathfarnham first met the girl when she was just 16.

Ron Tulie, a married father of four with 30 unblemished years service with Dublin Fire Brigade held his head in his hands and wept as the judge handed down sentence.

The court heard he first met the girl in 2008 while teaching a first aid and fire safety course. She was just 16 years of age and fell in love with him.

Longer sentence for man behind Ireland's worst ever car crash

The man behind Ireland’s worst ever car crash will be handed a longer sentence before Christmas after his original sentence was dismissed.

Shaun Kelly of Hill Road in Ballymagan, Co. Donegal killed eight people, including seven of his friends, while driving towards Buncrana in 2010.

Shaun Kelly was 18 in June 2007 when he narrowly avoided a Garda patrol car while trying to overtake another car on a blind bed in Co. Donegal.

Three years later, the then 21-year-old, crashed into Hugh Friel’s car while driving at speed from a pub in Clonmany to Buncrana.
