The show has followed physicists Leonard and Sheldon - who are geniuses in the laboratory but socially challenged everywhere else.
Street-smart neighbour Penny, who ultimately married Leonard, has been trying to teach them a thing or two about life.
Even Sheldon has found a female companion in his "relationship agreement" with neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler.
While Wolowitz and his wife, Bernadette, have been adjusting to life with their new baby girl.
In a post on Instagram, Sheldon actor Jim Parsons says: "I feel very fortunate that we have another 23 episodes to shoot this season because I am hopeful that with each and every one, my level of REALLY accepting this fact will sink in".
