The Million Pound Drop -9pm Channel 4

The hit game show will have it’s usual tense antics except with line of celebrities players including Jedward and Olympic athletes. The main aim for the famous line up is to win as much money as possible for  disability related charities in preparation for the Paralympics.

Superstar- 9pm UTV

Clashing with Million Pound Drop, Andrew Llyod Webber latest television venture will have a live showdown between two least popular contestants. In which both sing to become the latest Jesus Christ Superstar. The celebrity judge panel features Jason Donovan and Dawn French.

Autumn in New York-9.35pm RTE One

While romantic dramas featuring Richard Gere isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, this film stars Gere as an ageing playboy who embarks on an affair with a much young woman played by Winona Ryder. While Gere insists that he doesn’t want a serious relationship he begins to change his feelings for her on discovering her terminal illness.

Saturday Night with Miriam-9.50pm RTE One

If you plan on staying in Saturday night Miriam will have her usual mix of varied guests including Mary Davis, Jason Byrne and Olympic presenters Gerald Fleming, Audrey McGrath and Nuala Carey.

If you are still up Michael McIntyre has returned back with his comedy roadshow, touring the UK with various different comedic performers.

An action comedy where Dwayne Johnson stars as  bounty hunter who is sent into the depths of the Brazilian rainforest to locate a prominent businessman’s son played by Seann William Scott. However the pair end up trying to find a legendary artefact before a crook which is Christopher Walken gets his hands on it.

A line of famous faces are put to challenge as host Nora Owens quizzes them on their general knowledge in a bid to carry off the commemorative trophy.

The weather being as it is these days, this documentary studies the relationship the Irish have with the weather. It also features some of Ireland’s most memorable  weather television moments with interviews from various forecasters.

Dancing on Ice Goes Gold- 8pm UTV

Dancing on Ice is back for an Olympic special, with hosts Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley. This episode will feature Olympic medalists who  hope to demonstrate their ice-skating skills and impress the panel of judges, as well as viewers at home. Judges Robin Cousins, Katarina Witt and Louie Spence also reunite to deliver their verdicts on the athletes routines.
