A teenager is fighting for his life this morning after a serious assault in Swords.

The 19-year-old man was taken to Beaumont Hospital in critical condition after the attack on Brookdale Avenue at around 7pm last night.

It is understood he suffered stab wounds.

Another man in his early 20s has since been arrested and is being held at Swords Garda Station.

The crime scene has been sealed off and Gardaí are appealing to anyone with any information to contact them.
