Police in Australia have arrested a teenager they say was planning a terror attack.
Officers found explosives at the 17-year-old's home in a suburb of Melbourne.
"Victoria Police have been working with the Australian Federal Police and other security agencies dealing with an imminent threat to the community of Victoria," Acting Deputy Commissioner Robert Hill from Victoria Police said.
"This matter has been subject to an intense investigation, especially over the last nine days.
"The investigation has been methodical. Our resolution phase has been precise and measured."
A spokesperson for the Australian Federal Police said "some Victorians are going to be alive because of [the intervention]."
"Had we not intervened, there was a real threat of action being taken."
Last month, a plot to attack a military memorial event in the city - supposedly inspired by Islamic State - was also stopped.
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott made this statement overnight about the latest alleged plan.
