The Taoiseach says TDs and Minister’s are very tired ahead of their summer break.

Enda Kenny was speaking on his way into the final Cabinet meeting before September – and after a Dail term that has been dogged by reports of tension between the coalition parties.

A number of items are on the agenda – including public sector allowances, legislation to cut the number of TDs and a report on the state of child protection services in Ireland.

The Taoiseach says the break is a welcome one after a busy term.
