Taoiseach Enda Kenny is writing to the Sinn Féin President seeking clarity on a proposed meeting with people involved in the Maria Cahill case.
It follows an offer by Mr Kenny during heated Dáil scenes last week to meet with named individuals who Mairia Cahill says were involved in a “kangaroo court” about her claims she had been abused by a member of the IRA.
During leader’s questions last week Enda Kenny agreed to a request from Gerry Adams to meet the people involved in the investigation of the abuse of Mairia Cahill.
While no names were mentioned in the Dáil chamber, a spokesperson for the Taoiseach says it was clear that the agreement was to meet named individuals.
The Sinn Féin President has written to the Taoiseach in the past week about arranging the meeting, and Mr Kenny is now writing back seeking clarity on the people to be met.
Mr Kenny's spokesman says regardless of names being mentioned by Sinn Féin, Enda Kenny is clear that he's concerned about the four people that allegedly investigated Mairia Cahill's claims - and these are the four individuals named in the BBC Spotlight programme.
