The Taoiseach is again pleading with gardaí to return to the Croke Park extension talks as they step up their campaign against pay cuts.

Rank and file officers from the Garda Representative Association (GRA) and middle-ranking Gardai from the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI) are now refusing to use their own equipment such as phones on the job.

Last night a further 2 Garda divisions of GRA members joined fellow Gardaí in votes of no confidence and support for the action.

Dublin Metropolitan West Region last night voted in favour of a vote of no confidence in Minister for Justice Alan Shatter, Commissioner Martin Callinan and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin.

Just 5 counties - Galway, Kilkenny, Wexford, Carlow and Meath - have yet to ratify the proposals put forward by the GRA.

The Taoiseach says there is still time for them to make their case at the talks table.
