The Taoiseach says he is hopeful that planned abortion legislation will be ready by July.
Earlier the Health Minister said the heads of Bill are not finalised but that they will be brought before the Cabinet tomorrow for discussion.
"I want to reassure people that there'll be no question of a woman who's in distress with suicidal ideation being put through the sort of interviewing process I think that we've heard about on the television and the radio in the last couple of days" he said.
While speaking in Luxembourg this morning the Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore said "We have a timetable which is to have this legislation dealt with by the summer recess - we intend to keep to that deadline".
"But of course it's important that we get the content of the legislation right; because the whole purpose of this legislation is to protect the lives of women and to provide certainty for women who find themselves in this situation" he added.
The Sunday Times reported Labour ministers had rejected the first draft of the Bill. Earlier this month some Fine Gael TDs recommended a sunset clause be included in the legislation which would allow for the law to be renewed and altered at a later date.
The Bill heads will go before the Oireachtas Committee on Health before the Bill is finally drafted.
Speaking to Midwest Radio the Taoiseach Enda Kenny said clarity must be brought to the law.
