The Taoiseach says the government plans that the abortion legislation will be entirely Constitutional.
The comments from Enda Kenny come after former Taoiseach and Vice-President of Fine Gael John Bruton claimed the legislation would be contrary to the Constitution.
Mr. Bruton says including the threat of suicide to the life of the woman was as a result of an interpretation by the Supreme Court and called on TDs and Senators to respect the Constitution.
He told The Irish Times that allowing for abortion where there is a threat of suicide contravenes the Constitutional right to life of the unborn child.
Speaking in Dublin, Enda Kenny says Mr. Bruton is entitled to his views.
And he insisted the government would always act in a Constitutional manner.
